Sometimes, it’s good to kiss around

I’ve always loved the famous photograph “V-J day in Times Square” taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt. It was one of the most famous photographs ever published by Life Magazine, and was shot in Times Square on August 14, 1945, shortly after the announcement of victory over Japan by President Truman. What I didn’t know, is that this sailor in particular was kissing all women in sight, and shortly after this shot was taken, this nurse slapped him. I created this vector artwork to commemorate this iconic moment and bring it back into the spotlight … slap and all.
